Dawn over Holy Isle
Whiting Bay is an
excellent location from which to base your holiday on Arran with
grocers, restaurants, cafes, a pub, not to mention the
licensed DIY shop - don't get that in B&Q do you! Just north
of the village is the excellent Kirkend Nursery selling organic
produce and large plastic farm animals! |

Rocks, just south of Whiting Bay
|
The
foreshore, from Sandbraes at the North end to Black Rocks at the
south of the village is an ever changing view with the light and
sea in constant motion. Watch out for the swans and canada geese
outside the Royal Arran Hotel, they've been a feature of whiting
bay so long the Primary school has adopted a swan as its emblem

Holy
Isle from Black Rocks |
| From
Whiting Bay there are many walks and mountain
bike trails for which there is growing enthusiasm on the
Island. |
|
A walk not to be missed, the beautiful Glenashdale falls is an
easy two hour walk. With the spectacular cascades of the main
falls, mossy paths where the sunlight filters through the trees
and cataracts streaming into hidden pools |
